Arthur St. John Adcock, who published under the names A. St John Adcock and St John Adcock, was an English novelist and poet. Born in London in January 1864, he dedicated his life to the literary arts, establishing himself as a novelist and poet of his era. His career spanned several decades, during which he contributed to the English literary landscape.

Adcock is perhaps most widely remembered for his significant role in discovering the then-unknown poet W. H. Davies. By recognizing Davies's talent early on, Adcock played a crucial part in bringing the poet's work to a wider audience, marking a notable moment of mentorship and curation in his career.

The literary tradition was carried on by his family. His daughters, Marion St John Webb and Almey St John Adcock, both became writers in their own right, establishing their own places in the literary world. Adcock spent his final years in Richmond, where he passed away in June 1930.
