Andrew O. Anderson was an American clothing merchant active in DeKalb, Illinois during the early twentieth century. He is best known historically for commissioning the construction of the Andrew O. Anderson House, a prominent residential building designed in the Prairie School architectural style.

The development of the property began around 1913 when the American architect John S. Van Bergen designed the home, with construction ultimately being completed around 1916. This project was realized roughly fourteen years after an earlier, unrelated residential plan for the same site had fallen through. Because Van Bergen was a professional associate of the legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the finished building incorporated numerous design elements common to the broader Prairie style and reminiscent of Wright's own early residential designs. Consequently, throughout its history, the Anderson House has frequently been mistaken for a direct creation of Frank Lloyd Wright.
