Poul William Anderson (1926–2001) was an American author who wrote extensively in the genres of science fiction, fantasy, and historical fiction. His active writing career began in the 1940s and continued for over half a century until his death in 2001.
Throughout his career, Anderson achieved significant critical recognition for his work. He was a seven-time winner of the Hugo Award and a three-time winner of the Nebula Award, alongside receiving numerous other award nominations.
