Helen Victoria Baxendale is an English actress of stage and television who has established a diverse career across British and international productions. Born in June 1970, she began her professional acting career on the stage. Her early theatrical work included a performance in The Soldiers at Glasgow's Citizens Theatre, which earned her a nomination for the Ian Charleson Award in 1993.

Baxendale transitioned into prominent television roles during the mid-to-late 1990s. She became widely known to television audiences for her portrayal of Rachel Bradley in the acclaimed British comedy-drama series Cold Feet, a role she played from 1997 to 2003. During this period, she also gained international exposure by portraying Emily Waltham in the hit American sitcom Friends between 1998 and 1999.

In addition to these high-profile roles, Baxendale's extensive television career includes appearances in several other notable series. She starred in the medical drama Cardiac Arrest from 1994 to 1996 and the mystery series An Unsuitable Job for a Woman from 1997 to 1999. Her later television credits include Adrian Mole: The Cappuccino Years, the comedy series Cuckoo, and the drama Noughts + Crosses.
