Karle Wilson Baker was an American poet and novelist whose literary career developed during the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Kate Florence Montgomery Wilson and William Thomas Murphey Wilson, she grew up to pursue a dedicated path in creative writing and literature.
Baker received her higher education at the University of Chicago, where she was mentored by notable literary figures of the period. She studied under the poet William Vaughn Moody and the novelist Robert Herrick, both of whom helped shape her creative development. Following her studies, Baker went on to establish her own career as an author, publishing a variety of poems and novels.
