S.M. Banerjee was an Indian politician and trade unionist whose career was defined by his active involvement in Indian politics and his leadership within trade unions. Born on August 31, 1919, his public life focused on labor representation and political advocacy within India during the mid-to-late twentieth century.\n\nIn addition to his trade union activities, Banerjee was recognized as a sympathizer of the Communist Party of India.
