Richard Barnbrook is a British politician who served as a member of the London Assembly. Born on February 24, 1961, Barnbrook was active in local and regional politics in London during the late 2000s and early 2010s. He first achieved prominent public office as a representative of the British National Party (BNP).
During his political career, Barnbrook served on the Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council, representing the Goresbrook ward. Within this local council, he held leadership roles for the BNP group, serving as leader from 2006 to 2008 and subsequently as deputy leader from 2008 to 2010. However, his affiliation with the party changed in August 2010 when he resigned the BNP whip, choosing to sit as an independent member for the remainder of his term.
