Edward Barron (1801–1854) was an Irish-born missionary bishop who dedicated his ministerial career to the Catholic Church's outreach in West Africa. Born in Ireland, he eventually assumed episcopal responsibilities to oversee missionary activities.
Barron is historically recognized for leading a Catholic mission to Liberia. His efforts in the region during the nineteenth century represented a significant undertaking in the history of African missionary work, establishing a foundation for subsequent Catholic endeavors in the country.
