Frances Bartlett Kinne was an American academic administrator, author, and musician. Throughout her career, she made significant contributions to higher education and the arts, establishing herself as a pioneering figure for women in academic leadership. Kinne is distinguished as the first female university president in the state of Florida, and she was only the second woman to hold a university presidency in the United States. Her multi-faceted career spanned music, writing, and administration until her death in 2020.
