Samuel Levy Bensusan (1872–1958) was a British author, playwright, and musician who dedicated much of his career to documenting rural English culture. Born in Dulwich to Miriam and Jacob Samuel Levy Bensusan, a Jewish feather merchant, he developed a deep interest in country matters and travel.

Over his lifetime, Bensusan became particularly well-regarded for his efforts to record and preserve the declining dialects of Essex. He passed away in Hastings at the age of eighty-six, leaving behind a legacy rooted in the preservation of English countryside traditions.
