Helen Cecelia Black (née Spottiswoode) was an English journalist active during the nineteenth century. She is best remembered for her work documenting the lives and careers of her female contemporaries in the literary world.
Her most significant contribution, Notable Women Authors of the Day, was published in book form in 1893. The volume compiled a series of interviews she conducted with prominent women writers of the era, offering valuable insights into their lives and writing practices.
