Hubert Bland (1855–1914) was an English author and journalist who played a key role in the political and intellectual history of late nineteenth-century England. He is widely recognized as one of the original founders of the Fabian Society, a prominent British socialist organization. Through his work as an early English socialist, Bland contributed to the development of political thought during a period of significant social transition. Alongside his political commitments, Bland maintained an active career as a journalist and writer. In his private life, Bland was known for his reputation as an infamous libertine. He was married to the famous children's novelist Edith Nesbit, with whom he shared a life central to the literary and political circles of their time.
