James Bonwick (1817–1906) was an English-born Australian author who focused on historical and educational writing. Born in England, he later relocated to Australia, where he spent much of his life and career producing works that documented the region's history and contributed to its educational development. Active throughout the nineteenth century, Bonwick's writing career bridged his English origins and his Australian home. His publications remain notable contributions to the early historical and educational literature of Australia.
