Henry Noel Brailsford was an English journalist and writer who became one of the most prolific left-wing commentators of the first half of the twentieth century. His career was defined by his commitment to progressive political causes and social justice. In addition to his writing, Brailsford was an active advocate for women's rights. In 1907, he became a founding member of the Men's League for Women's Suffrage. Demonstrating his dedication to the cause, he resigned from his position at The Daily News in 1909 to protest the newspaper's support for the force-feeding of suffragettes on hunger strike.
