Cecilia Lucy Brightwell, active during the nineteenth century, was an English author and etcher who published under the name Lucy Brightwell. Born in 1811, she carved out a distinct niche in Victorian literature by writing educational books designed for younger audiences.
Brightwell's literary output consisted primarily of volumes of short biographies. These collections were curated to provide young readers with accessible and instructive life stories of notable individuals. In addition to her writing, she was an accomplished etcher, combining her visual and literary talents during her lifetime. She passed away in 1875.
