Catharine Brown (c. 1800 – 1823) was a Cherokee educator and missionary who made history in the early nineteenth century. Operating as a teacher at the Brainerd Mission School, she became the mission's very first Cherokee convert to Christianity.

In addition to her educational and missionary work, Brown achieved a historic milestone as a writer. She was the first Native American woman to have a significant body of her writings extensively published during her own lifetime.
