Charles L. Brooks III is an American scientist specializing in the fields of theoretical and computational biophysics. Throughout his academic career, he has focused on the application of computational and theoretical methods to understand biological systems at a molecular level.

Currently, Brooks holds several prestigious academic appointments at the University of Michigan. He serves as the Cyrus Levinthal Distinguished University Professor of Chemistry and Biophysics, as well as the Warner-Lambert/Park-Davis Professor of Chemistry. In addition to these professorships, he is a Professor of Biophysics and serves as the Chair of Biophysics at the institution.
