Catherine Bruce of Clackmannan (1696–1791) was a Scottish noblewoman and Jacobite. Active during the eighteenth century, she is remembered for her allegiance to the Jacobite cause.\n\nShe is best known for her custom of unofficially knighting notable individuals who visited her. Among those she famously honored in this manner was the celebrated Scottish poet Robert Burns.
