Bertha May Cushing Child was an American singer and clubwoman who was based in Boston, Massachusetts. Born on September 11, 1871, she was active in the civic and musical life of her community.

In her personal life, Child was the mother of the diplomat Paul Cushing Child. Through her family, she also became the posthumous mother-in-law of the famous celebrity chef and author Julia Child. She passed away on February 9, 1933.
