Hayden Carruth (1921–2008) was an American poet, literary critic, and anthologist. Throughout his career, Carruth contributed to the American literary landscape through his diverse creative and critical endeavors, balancing his own writing with the curation of other writers' works. In addition to his creative and editorial pursuits, Carruth was an educator who taught at Syracuse University. His work across poetry, criticism, and teaching established him as a dedicated figure in twentieth-century American literature.
