Gregory Casparian was an early twentieth-century author and illustrator. He is primarily remembered for his singular literary contribution, An Anglo-American Alliance: A Serio-Comic Romance and Forecast of the Future. Published in 1906 by Mayflower Presses, the work showcased Casparian's dual talents, as he both wrote and illustrated the volume.

The novel occupies a unique position in literary history. Combining elements of speculative fiction and romantic comedy, it has retroactively been recognized by modern critics, including a reviewer for the science fiction website io9, as "the first lesbian science fiction novel." Through this work, Casparian offered an early-century forecast of the future wrapped in a serio-comic narrative.
