Giovanni Battista Ceruti (1756–1817) was an Italian luthier celebrated for his craftsmanship in creating stringed instruments. Active during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, Ceruti is historically recognized as a crucial direct link to the grand classical tradition of the master violin makers of Cremona, Italy.
Throughout his career, Ceruti focused on the production of high-quality musical instruments, becoming particularly well-known for his violins, cellos, and double basses. His work helped preserve and carry forward the renowned Cremonese instrument-making heritage during a transitional period in Italian lutherie.
