John Wyndham was the author of the 1957 novel The Midwich Cuckoos. His work, which was originally set in England, has served as the source material for cinematic adaptations, including a 1995 science fiction horror film.
This 1995 adaptation, titled Village of the Damned and directed by John Carpenter, relocated Wyndham's story from its original English setting to Northern California.
