Elizabeth Rundle Charles (1828–1896) was an English writer and poet active during the Victorian era. Born in Tavistock, Devon, she was the daughter of John Rundle, a Member of Parliament. She exhibited literary talent from a young age, and some of her early manuscript poems earned the praise of Alfred, Lord Tennyson.\n\nIn 1851, she married Andrew Paton Charles. Throughout her life, she was closely affiliated with the Anglican Church, which informed her background and writing. She passed away in Hampstead, London, in 1896.
