Lillian Josephine Chester was an American writer and filmmaker active during the early twentieth century. Born in 1887, she published her literary works under several variations of her name, including Lillian Randolph Chester, Lillian Chester, and Mrs. George Randolph Chester. Her professional career in publishing began in 1914 with the release of her first book, The Ball of Fire, a collaborative novel written alongside her husband, George Randolph Chester.
Following this initial publication, Chester continued to write both independently and in partnership with her husband. This creative collaboration lasted from 1914 until George Randolph Chester's death in 1924. Throughout her career, she proved to be a highly prolific author, producing hundreds of short stories and numerous stage plays, in addition to her work in the filmmaking industry.
