Lucas Daniel is a French competitive archer who represented his country in major international archery tournaments during the 2010s. Born on January 1, 1995, Daniel developed into an elite competitor in the recurve discipline, eventually earning selection to the French national squad for high-profile global events.
Daniel first garnered significant international attention at the 2015 European Games, where he competed in the men's team recurve event. Alongside his teammates, he secured a fourth-place finish, establishing himself as a key contributor to the national archery program and setting the stage for his subsequent Olympic selection.
At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Daniel competed in both the individual and team recurve tournaments. During the individual classification round, he amassed 666 points out of a maximum 720 to secure the twenty-first seed heading into the knockout stages. In the men's team event, Daniel partnered with compatriots Pierre Plihon and Jean-Charles Valladont. The French trio defeated Malaysia 6–2 in the opening round but were subsequently eliminated in a closely contested quarterfinal match against Australia, which ended in a 3–5 defeat. In the individual competition, Daniel faced the reigning European Games champion, Miguel Alvariño of Spain, and was eliminated in the opening round.
