Louis Bartholomew Dodds is an English former professional footballer and current coach who spent his playing career as a midfielder and striker. Born in 1986, Dodds developed his early skills at the Leicester City Academy before signing a professional contract with the club in 2006. During his early professional years, he gained valuable competitive experience through loan spells at Northwich Victoria, Rochdale, and Lincoln City.
Dodds' career is most closely associated with Port Vale, a club he joined in July 2008 after declining a contract extension with Leicester City. He became a key figure for the team over an eight-year tenure, notably contributing seven goals in 36 appearances during the 2012–13 season to help secure Port Vale's promotion from League Two.
Following his long spell at Port Vale, Dodds played for several other English clubs, including Shrewsbury Town, Chesterfield, and Chorley, alongside a brief loan return to Port Vale. In the latter stages of his playing career, he joined non-league sides Hednesford Town and Hanley Town, winning the Midland League Premier Division title with the latter in the 2021–22 season. After retiring from active play, he transitioned into coaching, joining the staff at Congleton Town.
