Edward Estridge was a nineteenth-century English cricketer and schoolmaster who played first-class cricket during the Victorian era. Born in Hounslow, Middlesex, in 1843, Estridge was educated at Tonbridge School and later attended Trinity College, Oxford, where he developed his academic and athletic pursuits.\n\nEstridge's cricketing career spanned several decades and involved multiple clubs. He played for the Gentlemen of Kent between 1863 and 1866, followed by a period with the Incogniti from 1867 to 1871. His career reached its peak with a single appearance for Derbyshire County Cricket Club during the 1874 season, playing in a match against Lancashire where he batted in the lower order.\n\nIn addition to his athletic achievements, Estridge served as an educator, working as an assistant master at Repton School. He spent his later years in Abingdon, where he passed away in 1919 at the age of 76.
