Paul Ellering is an American professional wrestling manager and retired professional wrestler, widely recognized for his historic association with the legendary tag team the Road Warriors. Born in 1953, Ellering began his career as an active in-ring performer before injuries forced his retirement from wrestling in 1983. Transitioning into a managerial role, he became the mastermind behind the Road Warriors' historic run across various major wrestling promotions.\n\nBeyond his on-screen persona, Ellering served as the real-life manager for the Road Warriors, handling their travel arrangements, booking matches, and managing their financial expenses. Under his guidance, the team achieved global fame, competing in Georgia Championship Wrestling, the American Wrestling Association, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Jim Crockett Promotions, World Championship Wrestling, and the World Wrestling Federation. His dedication to the team earned him and the Road Warriors inductions into both the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.\n\nFollowing his initial run with the Road Warriors, Ellering continued to make sporadic appearances in the wrestling industry. He managed the Disciples of Apocalypse in the late 1990s and later returned to WWE in 2016 to manage the Authors of Pain in NXT. He remained active in occasional managerial roles, including a stint with the stable The Final Testament, before departing in 2025.
