Douglas Keith Anguish is a Canadian politician, consultant, and political assistant who represented the New Democratic Party (NDP) at both the federal and provincial levels. Born in July 1950, Anguish began his career in federal public service when he was elected to represent the riding of The Battlefords—Meadow Lake in the 1980 federal election. He served as a Member of Parliament in the 32nd Canadian Parliament until 1984, when he was defeated by Progressive Conservative candidate John Kenneth Gormley. Following his tenure in federal parliament, Anguish transitioned to provincial politics in Saskatchewan. He successfully ran for the North Battleford riding in the 1986 provincial election as an NDP candidate. He maintained his seat in the 1991 election, which saw the NDP form a government under Premier Roy Romanow. After winning re-election once more in 1995, Anguish served in the provincial cabinet. He officially resigned from his cabinet post and provincial politics on July 1, 1996, to seek other employment opportunities.
