Ruth Alice Fisher (née Hurditch, 1875–1959), also known as Ruth B. Fisher, was a British missionary who served with the Church Missionary Society (CMS) in Uganda. Born in the late Victorian era, she became part of the active movement of British missionaries traveling to East Africa during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.\n\nHer work in Uganda aligned her with the prominent figures of the missionary expansion of her time. Following her death in 1959, her contributions and character were highly regarded by her contemporaries, with an obituary in The Times famously labeling her as 'one of the great Victorians,' highlighting her enduring connection to the ideals of that era.
