George Helgesen Fitch was an American journalist, humorist, and author active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Born in 1877, he dedicated his career to writing, working across journalism and fiction to establish himself as a popular literary figure of his time.
Fitch is most widely recognized for his humorous stories set at the fictional Siwash College. These stories became his signature contribution to American literature, showcasing his talent for satire and collegiate humor. His writing career was cut short by his death in 1915.
