George Tobias Flom was an American linguist and academic who spent a significant portion of his career serving as a professor of linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Born in 1871, Flom was active during the late nineteenth and early-to-mid twentieth centuries, contributing to the academic community through both teaching and research.
In addition to his instructional role, Flom was a prolific writer of scholarly material. He authored numerous reference books in the field of linguistics, establishing himself as a dedicated researcher of language before his death in 1960.
