Captain James Henry Forman, DFC, was a distinguished Canadian aviator who served as a flying ace during the First World War. Born on February 1, 1896, Forman achieved significant recognition for his military service, particularly for his role in aerial combat. Over the course of the conflict, he was officially credited with nine aerial victories, a feat that established him as one of the notable flying aces of the era. His bravery and valor on the battlefield led to him being personally decorated by his king.

After the war, Forman transitioned to civilian life, leaving his active military service during the 1920s. Despite this departure, his commitment to service remained, and he eventually returned to military duty during the Second World War. Forman's life and career spanned two of the most significant global conflicts of the twentieth century. He passed away on October 4, 1972.
