Lady Mary Fox, born Mary FitzClarence in 1798, was a British writer of the nineteenth century. She was the illegitimate daughter of King William IV of the United Kingdom and his mistress, the actress Dorothea Jordan. Because of her parentage, she occupied a unique position in British society, navigating the social expectations of her era.

In the later years of her life, she established herself as a writer. She lived during a period of significant transition in Britain, spanning the late Georgian period through much of the Victorian era. She died in 1864, remembered for her literary contributions as well as her royal connections.
