V. S. Francis is an Indian Christian prelate who serves as the fourth Bishop of East Kerala within the Church of South India. Born on May 18, 1961, in the locality of Ellumpuram, Francis pursued his higher theological education at the Union Biblical Seminary in Pune. This academic foundation prepared him for his subsequent pastoral and administrative roles within the regional church community.
Over the course of his ministry, Francis served several local congregations, including those located in Chemmannar, Kattappana, Konnathadi, and Kaliyar. Beyond his local pastoral duties, he took on significant diocesan responsibilities, serving as Chaplain to Bishop George Daniel and as the Treasurer of the East Kerala Diocese. His leadership within the denomination was formalized on July 8, 2019, when he was consecrated as bishop at the CSI Cathedral Melukavu, a spiritual office he has held since.
