Donald Franchot McHenry is an American former diplomat. Born on October 13, 1936, McHenry represented the United States on the international stage during the late twentieth century.\n\nMcHenry is best known for his tenure as the United States Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations. He held this diplomatic post from September 1979 until January 20, 1981.
