Caroline Frederikke Müller (née Halle) was a celebrated Danish and Swedish operatic mezzo-soprano and vocal instructor whose career spanned the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Born in 1755, she initially performed in Denmark under the name Caroline Walther during her first marriage, which lasted from 1774 to 1780. Her early performances established her as a notable talent in the Scandinavian operatic scene.
In 1780, following her second marriage, she relocated to Sweden and adopted the name Caroline Müller, eventually becoming a naturalized Swedish citizen. In her new home, she achieved significant acclaim, earning membership in the prestigious Royal Swedish Academy of Music and receiving the title of Hovsångare (court singer). In addition to her celebrated stage career, Müller dedicated herself to education, serving as an instructor at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy where she trained the next generation of theatrical and operatic talent. She remained an influential figure in Swedish cultural life until her death in 1826.
