Hugh Stuart Fullerton III was an American sportswriter active during the first half of the twentieth century. He is widely recognized for his foundational contributions to sports journalism, most notably serving as one of the co-founders of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
Fullerton is best remembered for his pivotal role in exposing the 1919 "Black Sox" Scandal, where he helped uncover the conspiracy to fix the World Series. His legacy as a pioneering investigative journalist was later dramatized in the 1988 film Eight Men Out, in which he was portrayed by Studs Terkel.
