Harry Furniss was a British illustrator who built a significant career during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He first established his professional reputation through his contributions to the Illustrated London News before joining the staff of the prominent satirical magazine Punch. Beyond his work for major periodicals, Furniss is well known for his book illustrations. Notably, he illustrated Lewis Carroll's novel Sylvie and Bruno, bringing the author's characters to life through his distinctive visual style.
