William Charles Gibson was a nineteenth-century colonial administrator who served in Ceylon. He held the position of the 13th Accountant General and Controller of Revenue, a role central to the financial administration of the territory during the mid-nineteenth century.\n\nGibson was appointed to the office on October 1, 1851, succeeding Charles Justin MacCarthy. He dedicated a decade of service to the post, maintaining his duties until 1861, at which point he was succeeded by R. T. Pennefather.
