William Henry Gilder (1838–1900) was an American soldier, journalist, explorer, and writer. He was the son of the Methodist clergyman William Henry Gilder (1812–1864).
Gilder's career uniquely combined military service, journalism, and geographical exploration. Through his writings and journalistic work, he documented his travels and experiences during the late nineteenth century.
