Montague Marsden Glass (1877–1934) was a British-American lawyer and writer who achieved significant literary success in the early twentieth century. Born in England, he later immigrated to the United States, where he pursued a career in law before transitioning into writing short stories, plays, and screenplays. His legal background and observations of immigrant life in New York heavily influenced his comedic and character-driven narratives.

Glass is best remembered as the creator of Abe Potash and Morris "Mawrus" Perlmutter, a fictional duo of Jewish garment-district businessmen. The humorous interactions, business trials, and distinct dialect of Potash and Perlmutter resonated widely with contemporary audiences. This popular pairing debuted in short stories and was subsequently adapted into three books, a highly successful Broadway play, and several films during the silent and early sound eras.

Throughout his career, Glass contributed regularly to popular magazines and collaborated on theatrical productions. His work provided a lighthearted yet empathetic look at the Jewish immigrant experience and the bustling commercial world of New York City during his era. He continued writing for both the stage and the screen until his death in 1934.
