Charles Gray, born Donald Marshall Gray, was an English actor who achieved widespread recognition for his memorable performances across film and television. Born in August 1928, Gray established himself as a versatile character actor, bringing a distinct presence to a variety of high-profile roles throughout his career.\n\nHe is perhaps best remembered for his contributions to the James Bond franchise, where he uniquely played two different roles: the ally Dikko Henderson in You Only Live Twice and the iconic villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld in Diamonds Are Forever. Gray also earned a lasting legacy in cult cinema as the narrator-like Criminologist in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and as Judge Oliver Wright in the sequel Shock Treatment. On television, he was celebrated for portraying Mycroft Holmes, the brother of the titular detective, in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Gray passed away in March 2000.
