Ray Stannard Baker, who frequently published under the pen name David Grayson, was an American writer whose career spanned the late nineteenth and first half of the twentieth centuries. Born in 1870, Baker developed a multi-faceted writing career that allowed him to work across several distinct prose genres.
Over the course of his life, Baker made contributions as a journalist, historian, and biographer. Writing both under his birth name and his pseudonym, he remained an active figure in American letters until his death in 1946.
