Joseph Rhode Grismer (1849–1922) was an American stage actor, playwright, director, and producer active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Throughout his career, Grismer engaged in multiple facets of the dramatic arts, moving from performance to writing and production.

Grismer is most widely recognized for his play The New South. He also achieved lasting prominence for his revision of Way Down East, a play originally written by Charlotte Blair Parker.
