Franz Hartmann (1838–1912) was a German medical doctor and author who became a prominent figure in the esoteric movements of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Born in Donauwörth, Hartmann pursued a career in medicine while simultaneously developing deep intellectual interests in various alternative and spiritual disciplines.

In addition to his medical practice, Hartmann wrote extensively on esoteric subjects. His work as an author focused on theosophy, occultism, geomancy, and astrology. Through his diverse writings, he explored these mystical systems, contributing to the literature of the occult revival of his era. Hartmann passed away in Kempten im Allgäu in 1912.
