Sir Richard Hawkins (also spelled Hawkyns) was an English seaman, explorer, and privateer who lived during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Born around 1562, he was the son of the prominent naval commander Admiral Sir John Hawkins.

Throughout his career, Hawkins engaged in maritime exploration and privateering, continuing his family's legacy of English naval service. He passed away on April 17, 1622, leaving a legacy closely tied to England's historic era of seafaring.
