Hildegarde Hawthorne (1871–1952) was an American writer who worked across several literary genres. She is particularly noted for her creations in supernatural fiction and ghost stories, as well as her work as a poet.\n\nIn addition to her imaginative fiction and poetry, Hawthorne was also active as a biographer. Her diverse literary output spanned the late nineteenth and first half of the twentieth centuries.
