Alvin Kenneth Hellerstein is an American lawyer and jurist who serves as a senior United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Born in December 1933, Hellerstein developed a distinguished career in the American legal system, culminating in his nomination to the federal bench by President Bill Clinton in 1998. He served as an active district judge for over a decade before assuming senior status in 2011, continuing to oversee significant legal matters. Throughout his tenure on the federal bench, Hellerstein has presided over numerous high-profile and complex legal cases of national and international significance.
